Green Castle
As autumn in Iowa draws to a close we decided to spend one of our last warm Sunday afternoons at the small park outside of town where Josh and I were married eleven years ago. It was still beautiful and romantical! This one makes me sing, "For amber waves of grain...." Aren't you glad I don't know how to put audio clips on here? Micah bringing me a rock.Katie Grace in the prairie grass.Trying to agree on something to play.Wandering.Wandering back towards Mama. This is getting serious.Fully committed to ASPCA play (the overly dramatic animal rescue show on Animal Planet). If they could only find an animal in need of a rescue. Whoop--theres one. Poor Stella has been "rescued" many times.Stella on point--her signal for a birdie.Stella on come.Stella on her favorite place in the world--between Katie and Micah and getting petted by both. As it turned out the kids actually did get to utilize their superhuman animal rescue skills as Stella poked her nose around some rocks where it did not belong and got bit by some little animal--possibly a prairie snake. This dog has survived bears, pocupines (25 quills in the mouth) and lyme's disease from a tick in Minnesota, but one little encounter with a small prairie animal has been quite an ordeal. She is recovering nicely now but got a pretty severe owie on the nose! You can see it forming above--I'll spare you the really bad photos.
A little fun in the leaves!
