We recently spent an afternoon on the farm that Dad helps out with--it was great fun! Here are Katie and Micah playing in the prairie grass and waiting for Papa Paul to catch the pony so they could ride.

Here comes Papa and Spirit.

Josh teaching Micah to avoid the pasture patties--eeww!

Katie and her girl--Kindred Spirit!

Micah--going for a ride.

Katie loves taking care of her, brushing her and feeding her almost as much as riding.

Daddy leads Katie around farmland!

Sweetness!

Micah likes the swagger of the pony's walk.

Mama and Micah in the meadow--you'd think someone would have come up with something like snowshoes for prairie grass!

A crop duster--dustin.

When he saw us taking pictures he did a few fancy fly-overs for us.

Watch-out cornfields--Micah's at the wheel!

Papa Paul helping Micah onto a small tractor.

Katie Grace!

The kids and I explored a bit while Dad moved equipment around to get to the mower--we found this crazy spider that was hangin out in the barn. Upon a little internet investigation I discovered that this is the same kind of spider that was featured in the book Charlotte's Web by E. B. White. It is an Araneus Cavaticus spider--our very own Charlotte A. Cavaticus--the A for Aranea! Here she is spinning their traditional circle web!

Micah and his lady chips (were still not sure why he calls them that).
