If you've ever spent much time hangin out with my family you may have been lucky enough to experience a "Prescottism". They make great sermon illustrations but I have to admit, in the midst of them sometimes you wonder how in the world you are going to get out of this mess and how you got there in the first place.
We put the barge in the water, but somehow the back wheels of the boat trailer slipped off the landing pad and got stuck on the edge of the pad--the truck and the trailer were stuck fast. 3 Pickup trucks later, a guy with a super duty four wheel drive finally was able to pull the trailer (and Dad's truck) out of the landing. By this time we had about a half hour until dark and a very crooked looking trailer.
Josh prepared to get the boat out of the water to try to make it home before dark fell...but Dad said--"what are you doin Josh? We're goin fishin!" So we did. It was rather slow--a bluegill and a few crappies (mostly mom's) and then--as night fell I looked up to see Josh's ultra light nearly bent in half as he was very rapidly adjusting the drag. I yelled for Micah to help me find the net--we got it to him right as he was pulling this guy to the boat...

He was a 25 inch and 5.5 pound walleye. Bigger than any walleye Josh has caught up North. He just kept saying---at Rock Creek????? He sure tasted good! He made a meal for the whole family the next night! We even ate the cheeks--the very best part of a walleye! He bit on a ultra light rod, pink and white crappie jig and 2 lb test line!

And this is why its not a good idea to pick up a walleye by the lip---yyyouch!

Two weeks later Josh and I spent a Sunday evening out at Rock Creek and this is what he came up with this time. He doesn't usually keep bass, but he brought this one home--just for Boby (my mom).

Just a little boy and just a little girl.....
