I'll never forget the day I told the kids to jump in the car for a quick run to Walmart. As the kids are proficient in buckling their own seatbelts now I hadn't even glanced up at them until I opened the jeep door to let them out.
Out came Micah wearing this--plus a pair of cowboy boots and sunglasses. I put him back in the car intending to go home for a change but then abandoned common sense for public humiliation and decided to go in anyway so as not to throw my whole day into a time crunch.
Yes, people stared. The kinder ones asked him if he was a wrestler to which he responded, "Nope I'm a leapord...RAWR" My only consolation is that he loves the leopard because of its fierceness!
Note to self: look at your kids more often and especially before loading them into the car to go to a public place.
Second note to self: Hide or sell daughter's outgrown clothes before son finds and claims them.
Micah's mohawk--he enjoyed it for a while then we shaved it even.
Micah, passive aggressively going about his business while a little boy from our homeschooling group expresses his frustration slightly less passively! Micah--who's strong point has never been control and calm--did a very good job of holding it together and simply pretended not to notice that there was a child screaming at him!
Josh and his Dad recently had a camp board meeting in Cedar Rapids so the kids and I went along and spent the day with Nana. After the meeting we all went down to Coralridge Mall to walk around a bit. This was Katie's favorite place to play as a toddler--she still remembered the carousel and play place! I am not sure she will ever outgrow her love of horses--or playing!
Micah has no recollection of this place but it didn't take him long to feel right at home.
Kisses to Katie.

The leopard outfit is hysterical!!! Definitely one to remember to tell when he brings a date home! I don't know how many times I have been in a hurry and gotten somewhere and noticed that the kids were less than presentable. I guess it keeps things interesting!
